Muay Thai s the national sport of Thailand and one of the most dynamic and exciting combat sports in existence. It is also referred to as “the Art of Eight Limbs” because one is using one's hands, elbows, knees, and legs in combat.
Muay Thai training develops your cardio, endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, and self confidence. It will also help you relieve stress, lose weight, and is a very effective tool for self defense. There are not many combat systems that offer the same high-intensity workouts as Muay Thai. No matter what your fitness level, you will be challenged and will come out stronger in every way!
Our Muay Thai classes combine both traditional Thai-style and Dutch-style training techniques to produce both winning fighters and strong, confident, highly skilled students. Muay Thai fighters are known for their unmatched physical and mental conditioning, as well as their ability to maximize the efficiency of their minds and bodies. At Top Primate conditioning is king and we put a huge focus on getting you fit and strong, so that you are able to use the techniques you have learned with maximum efficiency.
At Top Primate we offer classes covering fundamentals, pad work, technical sparring, clinching, and more. Tradition is also emphasized with classes in the Wai Kru and Muay Boran. Our curriculum is taught Head Muay Thai Instructor Juan-Dre' Blaine and our grading system is accredited through both SA Muay Thai and Martial Arts South Africa. We also offer a specialized Muay Thai for MMA system that has been adapted for competitive Mixed Martial Arts and forms a large part of the advanced curriculum.
